Posting Jokiden kali ini adalah daripada hal gaji. Menghairankan juga DUN Sarawak tidak pernah menyemak gaji ADUN mereka sejak 1992. Sekali disemak mak oii aii. naik tigo kali gando.. amikkau..
Para Menteri patut mempunyai gaji yang agak tinggi, memandangkan kos sara hidup sudah naik. Kenaikan gaji juga boleh membuatkan mereka akan bekerja untuk membela rakyat dengan lebih bersemangat lagi. Juga boleh menghindarkan gejala rasuah.
Pembangkang tentulah menjerit apabila melihat senarai kenaikan gaji ADUN Sarawak ini. Namun wakil DAP sebanyak 16 orang itu tentulah gembira. Tidak mustahil selepas ini Pulau Pinang akan menaikan elauan ADUN-ADUN mereka dan diikuti oleh Selangor serta Kelantan.
Dulu bolehlah mana-mana YB pergi ke majlis perkahwinan hulur RM20 atau RM30 je. Sekarang tidak ada lagi. Kurang-kurang mahu RM50 atau RM100. Begitu juga dengan ziarah kematian. Mesti kena hulur punya. Dengan kadar elaun yang ada sekarang kompem tidak cukup dan hujung bulan para YB terpaksa ikat perut kecuali yang perniagaan mereka menjadi.
Para Menteri Sarawak juga nampaknya tidak akan lompat partilah selepas ini, kerana gaji mereka sudah melebihi gaji Perdana Menteri.
Sebagai seorang yang mata duitan Jokiden menyokong penuh kenaikan gaji ADUN2 Sarawak ini.
Menteri, ADUN Sarawak dapat kenaikan gaji
KUCHING 21 Mei - Gaji bulanan ketua menteri, timbalan ketua menteri, menteri, pembantu menteri dan anggota dewan undangan negeri Sarawak akan naik sebanyak kira-kira tiga kali ganda di bawah rang undang-undang yang diluluskan hari ini oleh Dewan Undangan Negeri (DUN).
Rang Undang-undang Anggota Pentadbiran dan Anggota Dewan Undangan Negeri (Gaji, Pencen dan Gratuiti) 2013 juga memperuntukkan kenaikan gaji untuk Speaker DUN, timbalan speaker dan setiausaha-setiausaha politik.
Gaji untuk Ketua Menteri akan naik daripada RM13,000 kepada RM39,000; Timbalan Ketua Menteri, RM11,500 kepada RM35,000; menteri kanan dan speaker DUN RM9,000 kepada RM30,000; menteri, RM9,000 kepada RM27,000; pembantu menteri dan timbalan speaker, RM7,000 kepada RM21,000; anggota dewan undangan negeri, RM4,500 kepada RM15,000 dan setiausaha politik, RM3,000 kepada RM9,000.
Rang undang-undang itu juga menetapkan kenaikan gaji itu berkuat kuasa dari 1 Januari tahun lalu. Kali terakhir pindaan gaji dibuat ialah pada 1992.
Menteri Kewangan Kedua, Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh berkata, semakan gaji itu dibuat berikutan peningkatan jangkaan daripada rakyat.
"Sarawak adalah sebesar Semenanjung dan banyak Anggota Dewan Undangan Negeri perlu menjaga kawasan yang luas terutama mereka yang berkhidmat di kawasan luar bandar," katanya.
Soon koh berkata, rang undang-undang baharu itu akan berkuat kuasa minggu depan dan kenaikan gaji itu dijangka membabitkan RM17 juta daripada dana negeri, termasuk bayaran tunggakan dari tahun lalu. - BERNAMA

Abdul Wahid and Paul Low taking huge pay cuts

Former
Malayan Banking Bhd chief executive officer Wahid earned RM6.26mil from the banking giant last year, according to data from Bloomberg.
The Star had also reported that Wahid took home RM2.96mil for the six months ended Dec 31, 2011, which is the new financial year end for the banking group.
His total remuneration was RM4.68mil and RM4.7mil for the financial years (ended June) of 2011 and 2010 respectively,
Maybank's annual report showed.
Both Wahid and Low have been appointed ministers in the Prime Minister's Department.
Low draws at least RM560,000 a year from his various corporate positions.
However, Low, 66, who is also Transparency International-Malaysia (TI-M) president, said he did not draw any salary from TI-M as it is a donor organisation and his work is voluntary.
As ministers, Wahid and Low will now draw a minimum annual salary of RM179,642.40 (or RM14,970.20 a month) and also RM49,353.48 (or RM4,112.79 a month) each as senators.
Both are also entitled to a number of allowances for official duties and other perks.
MPs can earn up to RM10,000 per month
PETALING JAYA: Elected Members of Parliament can earn up to RM10,000 in monthly perks and allowances.
According to Statute Paper No. 235 of the Members of Parliament (Remuneration) Act 1980, MPs are afforded monthly allowances such as for entertainment (RM1,500), personal driver (RM1,200), travel (RM1,500) and telephone (RM900).
It said MPs are also paid an allowance of RM200 per day when they attend meetings in Parliament and RM150 when they attend any meeting, briefing, seminar or event organised by ministries or government agencies at the federal or state level that they are officially invited to.
Besides that, MPs can also claim, while on official duty, food allowances (plus 25% for tips) and funds for hotel room and laundry charges, parking and toll fees, and money for them to buy warm clothing and ceremonial attire.
Other perks MPs enjoy are free medical treatment for themselves, their spouse and children below 21 at government hospitals and clinics, computer, car and housing loans, free firearm and motor vehicle licences, as well as pension and gratuity for their services under certain terms and conditions.
